Most of our work focusses on houses and housing, places for people to live.
Whether built from scratch or an old building repurposed, our goal is to create homes which both meet the needs of their occupants and create a connection to the outside environment.
Spaces to work, spaces to study, spaces to play.
Commercial, educational and cultural spaces should be inspiring and joyous environments where people enjoying being and want to stay. Our projects focus aim to achieve this through a palette of natural materials, and an emphasis on daylight and fresh air.
Existing houses extended, contracted and reconfigured.
Existing houses often don't work - they are too small, too big, too draughty, too noisy. But there are often aspects that do work, sunlight that shines at a particular moment, materials that that have the patina of age, quirks that are unique. Our approach is to retrofit strategically in response to these specifics, transforming the spaces but respecting what is already present.
