This competition proposal for the Hungarian House of Music, located in the heart of Budapest, was developed in conjunction with Belgian architects SHSH and Hungarian architects Teampannon The museum is sited in the centre of the City Park, a uniquely green area within the city. Connecting with the environment and landscape of the park is a key driver for both the architectural and environmental strategies. The elevation connects with the park on all elevations, providing views to the park and encouraging access from several points. The plan is derived from an analysis of the existing trees on site. and curves around existing root bases to minimise the number that need to be removed.
